How old and what engine...Kawa I assume. What do the plugs look like? Do you smell gas?
The reason I ask is we had a problem with oil becoming a bit high high...fuel in oil. Plugs getting fouled and running hard, bogging and banging a bit.
Change oil and plugs and you were good for a bit...then it would start all over- quite suddenly.
I finally changed the fuel pump and we haven't had a problem since last August.
Is this your problem, I have no idea, but worth checking out. Good luck, Grant
