We had a 5230 back in the day. One day while cutting hay it started slowing down while cutting hay. It went to the dealer on a truck. Turned out a teflon seal on the trans main shaft went bad allowing two clutch packs to be locked at the same time. After a powershift rebuild it was back home cutting hay until the next problem popped up and it seemed there were plenty. You don't want to hang parts on these tractors because they are very spendy. Take it to someone with the experience, manuals and special tools to diagnose and repair them. Just like Bruce from Can. we sent the 5230 on down the road because its future looked expensive. A decent tractor but not a good tractor.
