I work in a large plant of a fortune 50 company as a mechanic. As such, we have rules that would even make the military rules look smart. Today we had an "audit" for any rule violations. One item found was an empty 1 lb propane tank for a little Bernzomatic torch. Even though we send all our trash to the local municipal landfill we have our own rules as to what we will send there. One is no aerosol cans can go in trash. So the topic came up of how to dispose of this tank/cyl. Our service director (kind of a boss with no fire or hire authority) told us to "DRILL A HOLE IN IT TO LET OUT THE PRESSURE AND THROW IT IN SCRAP IRON!!!" A kid in my high school has no fingers from doing that very thing! This is why they make the smartest ones the boss. A few years ago another boss during a similar audit looked at an LP powered forklift with an LP tank mounted on the back and asked "What's in the LP tank"? "Because its not labeled".
