Loan Officer will remember your name probably for longer than your brother's. I would tell him about it, bank will probably just write it off. Do not know if he got on Medicare and SSI. Even so any equity in crop, machinery, land is probably gone by now. That is probably their logic for selling what they can a little at a the time.
