I dropped a chunk of firewood on my big toe in boots like that around Christmas 2005, in summer 2007 I finally went to the doctor and he said I had the most ingrown toenail he had seen. It is pain free since he clipped the nail sides, but it never returned to its original shape entirely. I hope you'll be feeling better soon. Zach
