New one on me! Did have a distant neighbor who raised alpacas and transported them in a short gooseneck stock trailer. It was pulled by a small GMC/Chevy mini Blazer type SUV that had a floor mounted, frame anchored post extending through the roof with a ball atop it. He could turn the truck 360 degrees while hitched. He was really good at putting the trailer into some very tight spaces.
