Get a plug that fits the one on the trailer and plug it in to cover the trailer plug when not in use. I have put a vehicle plug on my trailers and made a connecting wire between the two. Keep connecting wire in safe dry place. This h as two benefits one connections are kept clean two not easy for some one to steal or use your trailer! Ypop
