Thank you all for replying. I am not old enough for Medicare. My wife is on it since she is on SS disability. Her farther died at 47 from the same issues. She is 47 now. I love her with all my heart but the odds are she will never see 60.
Many of you are talking about wrap around policies that must be state sponsored. They are not available to her.
We had a SS case worker tell us point blank that the best thing we could do to make my wife eligible for less costly heath care was to get divorced. YES DIVORCED!!!! That way my wife's income would allow her to get all the government free bees.
I am not a rich man by any description. I have just worked and saved my whole life.
I do not think paying 25% of my after tax income for HEALTH care coverage is in anyway AFFORDABLE!!!! This does not even conceder any co-pays I will have to pay.
