White neutral is to be solid and not switched . Except for when a 14/2 or the like is dropped to a switch. The white becomes an identified conductor and should be taped red or blue when used to carry line current.
Switch the line for the fan. Live line to be attached to the top of the switch, supply to load/fan from bottom of switch .
Of course some European equipment is backwards on breakers, switches and fuses.
The exposed shell/base of a lamp is to be connected to neutral. The little bitty center button is for the line/supply.
