Oh yea Lawyers , Doctors and Vet's and wimmen with horses and TRACTORS . there should be a law AGAINST such combo's I use to have the whole gambit for customers . You have really never lived till ya have to deal with them on fixing there tractors or selling them one or selling them some implement . a couple case in points here . One time one of the Vet's brought his 2520 Deere down ( yea i know i am not really and expert on Deere's ) He was having a problem with the lights . Well after tracking down the problem and fixing it he came down to settle up and made a statement to the fact WELL HOW LONG DO YOU WARRANTY YOUR WORK , Told him 90 days on labor as for the Parts you Brought me from Mother Deere that is between you and the Deere Dealer . I then Asked him about his WARRANTY ON HIS WORK . HE said that HE could not warranty his work as to LIFE AND DEATH . I told him that he had better as because as soon as we are done here i have to take the backhoe over to this farm WHERE YOU just worked on that one Holstein and it is NOW layen stiff legged on it side with it's tongue hanging out one side of it's mouth and we are going to have SERVICES for it here directly . The Farmer IS NOT HAPPY after putting more money into that cow then i charged you to bring your DEAD DEERE back to LIFE . Well he paid me and went flyen out of the shop and went over to the farm with the dead cow and wanted to do and ontopsy (sp) on said DEAD COW AND CHARGE the farmer another grand to do so to see why the cow died . This is the same Vet that came to me to buy a set of 4 bottom 16 inch plows that HAD to be super nice and they had to be Oliver's with all good bottoms ready for the field and did not care about HOW MUCH . Well i found him that set of plows in a 3 -4 bottom set in MINT cond. i had to hook them up to his 2520 as he did not know HOW TO and he was off . Two hours after he left he was back telling me that there was something wrong with the plows as they would not PLOW wright and the ft. of the tractor would not stay on the ground . I had to come with him and see what was wrong with the plows . So i go up to his farm and he wants me to try and plow with then . I told him that for me to see what is wrong he was the one that needed to be on the tractor while i watched . As soon as he dropped the plow into the ground it plain as day It was him he had the three point as down as far as it would go and the ft. two bottoms were in above the cover boards and the back was down to where the depth stop was . I stopped him and i got on the tractor and made a couple passes setting the depth stop on the three point dropped the back down a little and was able to come up two whole gears . When i got off the tractor he looks at me and says ARE YOU SURE THAT IS WRIGHT , Your ONLY going down about 9-10 inches . I was skimming the top of the clay at that depth.

Today's Featured Article - The Nuts and Bolts of Fasteners - Part 2 - by Curtis Von Fange. In our previous article we discussed capscrews, bolts, and nuts along with their relative hardness and thread sizes. In this segment we will finish up on our fasteners and then work with ways to keep them from loosening up in the field. Capscrews, bolts and nuts are not the only means of holding two parts together. When dealing with thinner metals like sheet tin, a long bolt and ... [Read Article]
