Improved economy? The local mom & pop construction company that replaced my windows in 2000 calls me up wanting to clean my gutters. The ten days I worked without pay this year "saved" my job temporarily (I've worked there 25 years). My wife has all our medical bills set up with an automatic debt each week. I often skip my $150 a month medicine to pay half the $300 a month utility bill to keep the lights and heat on. My 16 year old car has a bad accessory drive bearing had I keep putting off replacing. My medical insurance went up $200 a month. The car commercials on tv are targeting the top 1%, the wealthy, with ads for Lexus, Benz, Cady, lincoln, etc. I financed the $800 car tires that replaced the bald tires I've been driving on for the last year.
