The tendency is to cherry pick "leading indicators" to show improved economy if you're voting for the party in power during the last few years.
Sure some things are all bright and rosy. But....Take your paycheck and go grocery shopping. You'll notice the cart isn't anywhere near as full when the check runs out. Those of us who actually pay our OWN health insurance....Ask us how much is missing from our paychecks. And what about taxes taken from that check? Oh yeah....Big chunk missing there too.
Somehow our fearless leader has glossed over the fact that our hard earned dollar just doesn't go near as far, even though we have a few more dollars.
Stock market will undergo a "correction" at some point, more'n likely fairly soon. And even with that, the vast majority of US citizens aren't as vested in stock market as others. That "number" doesn't really mean much to the lower half of the income scale.
The US economy is "up", but it is a zillion light years from being "healthy".
