Hi Have you tried doing anything with the main fuel lift pump/ or blowing lines back to the tank. we got a 750 with a 372 in. it would not start after every stop with air in and needed to be bled every time. and started loosing power to at one point. first thing i found was dirt in the line somewhere. we blew the lines back to the tank and it was better on power, but still would not start with the air in the system. so I took the lift pump apart after everything else simple I could think about. found a non return valve floating around in there. we put a new pump on and it started good after that. maybe one of those 2 valves has fallen out and the lift pumps not working correctly. thats a fair height that fuel goes up from the tank to the motor! so that may cause starving, and why the either works. The motor runs a bit and gets a shot of fuel up there quickly.
something else that happened once was the Murphy switch solenoid to cut the fuel of at the filters started goofing around with a bad internal contact, i guess yours has the same system. it needs constant good power in the solenoid. intermittent/low power will restrict flow and starve fuel to as it opens and closes fuel flow.I Put another on from a NH i parted and that never happened again.
It could be a rubber lines breaking up internally and restricting fuel flow with a chunk flapping up and down with flow movement or the piece is detached and stuck in a bend somewhere. I can't remember how much rubber lines on hours without going looking in the shed. have had that happen on other equipment before and cause the symptoms you have with no power. Regards Robert
