Around here, I cut and skid dead trees off of other peoples property (They pay me for cleaning up their property), cut them to length, and then trailer them 1 or 2 miles to my log deck, add them to the deck, and then cut rounds off of it. I could sell wood all day long if I wanted to at a good price...
I could easily get $150 a cord for rounds, delivered, and close to $200 a cord split and delivered.... I think that it is a good way of making some cash, and I like doing it, but I am usually busy with other jobs or chores...
Go for it buddy, I think that if there is demand, you will easily be able to make some good money at it.. My theory is that it takes me 2 hours to produce a cord of rounds, from falling, skidding, decking, and cutting. Then delivery is on top of that, so even if you could sell a cord for $100, you could still probably make easily $20 an hour!! Good money! Bryce
