I used to get the best deals from NewEgg.com. No more. Walmart has had the best deals I can find anywhere. Just bought a 50" Emerson LCD TV last night for $218. That is an amazing price for any 50" Hi-def LCD TV.
Got another 50" LCD TV last year from Walmart for $349 made by Sceptre. I have used these TVs side-by-side with namebrands like Sony, LG, Vizeo, etc. Very few differences other then price. Vizeo company is similar to Sceptre. Both companies based in California selling TVs made in China.
My first LCD widescreen TV was a Syntax Brillian I got at BJ's Wholesale in 2005. I had a few people telling me it had to be junk because it was so cheap. Well here it is 2014 and it's still working perfectly. They went bankrupt in 2009 and Emerson bought them out. So I hope my new $218 50" Emerson I got last night proves to be as good.
