Owen Aaland said: (quoted from post at 17:13:11 11/25/14) Depending on what style return fitting you have the ball may have come from there. It might even be from a fitting that has already been replaced but the ball remained in the pump.

As far as the little roller, might be the fuel pressure adjuster. A new one usually comes in the seal kit. The original might have been steel. The replacements are a composite material, usually tan in color.
Thanks for the input I inspected return fitting after your reply and it is intact but has a ball like the one found so might have come from a previous one as this pump had more stuff built up in it than any other i have seen in many years. Looking under magnifying light at 1/8" rod found, i noticed one end has shiny smooth indentation like it might have been wearing against a ball so i really would like to find a photo showing what all goes in pump head under the plugs under the end after the the flex drive, cam ring, and rotor shaft are removed. The little roller i found before i soaked the inlet pressure regulator in the soak sink and upon examination the roller does not fit it. All pieces in governor area and fuel inlet area were coated with varnish removed only by rubbing after being soaked and this little roller was shiny without being rubbed. thanks again for your help and it may turn out that ball was from old return parts replaced before i got tractor
