I was in 3rd grade in 1963. I remember all the teachers being called out and returning with tears in their eyes. We were loaded on school buses and seems like we spent the next week in front of the tv. The shuttle accidents just did not make that kind of an impression on me. 9/11 I was on vacation and did not even know about it until the next day. The biggest impression that made on me was the silence in the sky with 0 plane noise. Desert Storm was no surprise or shock. I was working at an Army depot and we had spent an entire year shipping material hand over fist in support of Desert Shield.
