1. Kennedy: Wasn't around but I have watched a lot of interesting documentaries on Netflix. 2. Challenger: I was in the womb. 3. Columbia: I was a Junior in high school. I was prepping food for the day at my first job as a cook at Buffalo Wild Wings. It was on the (many) tv's in the bar area the rest of the day. 4. 9/11 Attacks. I'll never forget this one. I had just gotten into my second hour class my sophomore year of high school (Metal Shop), where the instructor (Maj. Gen. Jon Trost of the MN National Guard) was giving daily instructions to the class. My assistant principal walked in, walkie talkie in hand, and whispered something to my instructor. My instructors face went blank, he paused while looking around. He then said, "There is something you kids need to know about. The United States has been attacked." He motioned us to go to work on our projects, didn't turn on the television, but spent most of the next hour on his phone in his office. I have no idea what his conversation was about, or who it was to 'til this day, I can't even fathom. The rest of the day, we watched television coverage in all of our classes. My Marketing teacher was a wreck because he had many close friends working in the WTC. I remember being frightened, confused, angry, and awestruck as I walked out of the school that day and looked up into the sky. There was an eerie silence and clearing. No jet streaks. No planes. Just silence. 5. Iraq invasion of 1991: I was in kindergarten. Not sure what I was doing.. Probably working on eating play-doh or gluing my hands to the table. (I was a productive child).
