find the model number and do a google search and find some prices. .270 is a good deer gun but I shoot a 25-06 which is a little flatter projection, but not as much foot pounds of energy at impact. Friend shoots a 270, and sounds like a cannon compared to my 25-06. Grew up on .243 which is a great gun. Only own 1 savage and it is at 17 HMR. my 25-06 is a Ruger and the .243 that I grew up on is a Winchester lever action that is worth some good money. Think it is a model 88
