I think something goes off in the brain. Out in the wilderness, whatever you want to define as that, seems the worst part of the brain gets triggered in some people. Being "free" to do as they wish, with control over life and death at their fingertips is more than some can handle.
Fiction senario. You are out in the Colorado Rockies deer hunting. Over on the next ridge is an orange colored vested person walking the slope. You have your scoped -06 across your lap. You could just as well take a shot at the guy as not, your decision, you're in control....you have the POWER over life and death; your decision and yours alone.
Some can handle that, some go off the wacko end and that is one reason why I don't hunt.
