We used different plows depending on how deep we plowed. A plow does its best at 1/2 the depth per size of bottom, ie; 18" plow- up to 10"deep. 16"-8". 14"-6". 12" plow 4-6". I used a 4 bottom 3pt. adjustable Oliver plow set at 12" to plow peppermint ground very shallow. It did the best job of any plow I ever used at 4"-5" deep, broke up the ground well and left very level. The ground was left all winter and just 1 rollerharrow pass in the spring was all it needed. Regular plowing here was done with 18" bottoms. Speed has a lot to do with which bottoms work best here. Oliver radix was a slow speed bottom to do the best job. I liked the Oliver plows but later went to JD as we plowed faster....James
