Late last spring I cashed a bunch of checks I'd accumulated for odds and ends shop/mechanic work I'd done. Came out of the bank with a twitch over $5,000 in an envelope. I put the envelope in the ash tray of the pickup since I had some stops to make in another town and I thought it would be out of sight in the ash tray. I scoured that pickup from head to toe, finding some ancient relics I'd long forgotten about but still no cash. I didn't think to look in the ash tray. Called the son, he scoured the pickup and found nothing, but he too forgot to check the ash tray. I was bummed! A couple of weeks later my son handed me the envelope and said "happy father's day". He was looking for something else in the pickup and finally opened the ash tray and found the cash.
