Tully, I agree with Ken's sugestions, But there is some other factors to know that could point more direct to your problem. Does your tractor have A High/ Low Shift on the Dash and does it have Independent PTO? If it has High/ Low shift your problem is simular to what Ken said only it is in the two speed area of the transmission. I will explain in more detail if you let me know what options your tractor is equiped with. 2020 tractors may of had one or the other, both or neither options as options! : I USE THE 2020 FOR LANDSCAPING. YARD INSTALLATION MOSTLY
: ITS A CONSTANT BACK AND FORTH PROCESS(FORWARD/REVERSE.)
: IT HAS DEVELOPED A SHIFTING PROBLEM. IT DOES NOT COMPLETELY
: DISENGAGE WHEN CLUTCHED. I SPLIT TRACTOR TO INSPECT CLUTCH AND
: IT APPEARED TO BE OK. NO BROKEN SPRINGS, NO RUSTED
: SPINDLE ETC. A JD MECHANIC LOOKED AT THE PARTS ALSO AND SAID
: THEY LOOKED OK. COULD IT JUST BE OUT OF ADJUSTMENT? ANY HELP WOULD
: BE APPRECIATED THANKS

While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation. They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity". After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents. A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point ... [Read Article]
