The main factors are yield and maturity. Start looking at any published data concerning yield trials for your area. Is the ground difficult to get on if wet? If so you may want to opt for a short season variety that may not compete head to head with the top varieties so at least you have a better chance of getting a crop out. 70 bushel beans do no good if they are stuck in a field going into winter as opposed to something that might yield 58 bushels but is ready to come out mid-September. Plant disease issues were real important this past summer locally so I would pick the salesman's brain pretty good and do a lot of research regardless of anybody's opinion of salesmen on this board.
