Those were wonderful trucks ! I was just starting out as a mechanic in '68 and the co. I hired on with had 6 of them . Does it have the 330 HD V8 in it ? That was the most common . Or the 300 six cyl? Another really good engine . You mentioned that it was 6 volt, , no way, Ford went 12 volt across the board circa 1955. The battery is kinda hard to get to under the floorboards ,keep it washed off to keep corrosion from building up on it . Get it fixed up, they are a strong truck , easy to get parts for.
