My thanks to all who served before me and those who served or are serving after me. To all of you that express your thanks, you are very welcome. As Americans, it is part of what we did to preserve our way of life. Our country has some problems, but it is the best show in town. Even the Native Americans express their appreciation, invite all Veterans for free buffet dinner at their casino, just up the road a few miles. The place was packed last night with old Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, & Airmen. My Dad was too young for the Great War, too old for WWII, brother was in Army 58-61, I was in USAF 61-65. Today's Featured Article - The Revival of a John Deere Combine - by The Red, John Fritz. For several years I had been driving by a farm house on the west side of Indianapolis that had a John Deere combine parked in high weeds in a lot behind the house. The gentleman no longer farmed because the entire area was developed with housing and light industry. I had stopped several times and knocked on the door but no one would answer.
