I have a 60 x 120 machine shed that I store the old tractors and old cars in. Each fall I drop bait bars around the perimeter every 16 feet to dull any mice that are looking for winter housing. Usually see several mice laying in the alley ways or outside after a week or so. I drained the radiator on my '53 Chevy and left about a gallon of antifreeze in a 3 gallon pail under the front bumper. Two days later I had five dead mice floating in the anti-freeze (???)
