Seems to happen around our place too. I grew up working in my dad's shop and it always seemed we would have a bunch of the same repairs come in at one time. I always thought that the weather, or atmospheric conditions, or something must have played a part in sending "iffy" components over the edge. Certainly not a scientific experiment, but it seemed to be our experience.
