One I saw is when the passage in the block around the cylinders are full of rust flakes. Cuts way down on the water flow. The old time farmers would use straight well water and run it all summer. In the fall they would drain it all. If they needed the tractor they would just filler up. NO antifreeze no rust or pump lube. You get the picture. My dad used to do it. I had to un plug a radiator down IN the brook with a small irrigation pump hooked to the bottom pipe. All Kinds of crap blew out!!
