Some of it is the assumption by those who are on it constantly,that everybody in the world is on it. My elderly mother lives with my oldest brother and his wife. His wife is one of those who can't get off it for ten seconds. A few years back,instead of calling everybody to tell them when the family Christmas get together was,she just posted it,assuming everybody was like her and would get the message. It's as stupid as sending a text message to a land line phone.
