You need to ID just what you have....the 300 is a (1980s) series of flex heads, last two numbers designate width...315, 320, etc. Flex is not the older style floating cutterbar.
If it was a FCB it could be any of several add-on brands like Love, Hiniker, Hart-Carter, etc. Either style COULD have auto header height, but if yours doesn"t, I"m thinking it"s an older head with the add-on bar. The header should have an ID tag on the left side.
You need to ID the FCB mfgr. Look for casting numbers on the guards. Love is a yellow bar, H-C was black. Check the sections for rivet hole spacing...different brands used different widths, even though the section width is the same. Thus the knifeback is specific to brand as well.
