On a similar note people who hang a bunch of stuff on the rear view mirror increase the chance of them coming off too. A little weight on a key chain may not seem like a big deal but after they swing back and forth and bounce around on every little bump for "x" amount of miles, it is more than likely to cause a problem at some point.
