I got a call 2 years ago or so, woman says..."this is the cancer institute of such and such, you need to live up to your pledge" Right then I interupted.... If you ever call me again I will rip your throat out. She hung up on me, never called again.
You have to be sooooo rude to these people that they hang up on you. Calling up people at random and asking for money is panhandling to me.
I do not think the IRS would make calls to people anyway, certified letter or something looking official would seem like their procedure.
