Stay with pre 99 Chevy, with 5,7 (350) HP mouse motor and 4:10 gears. That's what I have and it gets 16 unloaded and 12 loaded to the max (12K) and will pull the front off your house. I have 175 on the clock and nothing but tuneup parts .But I religiously change the oil every 10k miles. LOL Every 5k miles in the 350 mouse in the 72 LT1 Corvette.
