I went through a F226 about 20 years ago, used factory parts, the pistons kit boxes said F227 on them, and were flat top pistons, the only thing different from the old ones they used plastic buttons on the ends of the wrist pins instead of the clips. the F227 was a newer engine and was rated more HP., had more compression and was wound up faster for it's rating. According to the book the F226 had 6.02 and the F227 had 7.28 for compression ratio.
