15.5x38 loaded radius = 28.5"
16.9x38 loaded radius = 29.9"
There is almost 1-1/2" difference in loaded radius. Other tire styles seem to have a similar difference.
What this means is, your axle will be 1.5" higher off the ground. Your drawbar will be 1.5" higher off the ground. Your tractor will move 15" farther with every revolution of the tire.
If you are going from a bald tire to a brand new tire, the difference will be much greater.
