What several guys around here have done is make a normal looking single spear bale carrier. Then take two pillow block bearings that will slide over the spear. Then make a flat plate about three foot in diameter with a hole in the center to go over the bale spear. They then take a large sprocket ( The one that drive the reel on a JD combine works well and the hydraulic motor is sized right for it too) mount it on a brake to the back of the plate. You put a bearing on each side of the plate. They just cut the center out of the sprocket and mounted it under the bolts that went through the pillow block bearings and the plate. So you have your turn table. Then you weld several spikes to the plate. Make a mount for your hydraulic motor to line up with the sprocket.
I know I have not described this very well but I have attached a picture of a factory built one that works the same way. They basically turn the bale around the center spear. The guys with them have used them for years without issues.
