The first tractor I ever bought was a used 400 Farmall. When I got ready to drive it away, the old farmer that owned it told me, "Son, it has been a good tractor for me and as far as I know there is nothing wrong with it. However, you may not make it out of the driveway before it falls apart but it's yours now." He was right. It ran hot on me about two miles down the road, but I pulled it on home and never mentioned it to him. I have since told anyone who bought a tractor from me the same words the old farmer told me years ago. Does sound like you got a really raw deal.
