Somewhere, somehow, something is clogged in the carb, or a component is missing.
I would open it up and examine the main jet circuit. All fuel flows through the main jet. If it won't get any fuel, (and what you are describing is it isn't getting any fuel), then nothing is getting through the main circuit.
These are simple, basic carbs, don't be afraid of it. As you look at it, keep in mind how it was made, how the passages were drilled, where they go, what does what, what is supposed to be open, what is supposed to be plugged.
Do some research on carb theory, all carbs work the same. Let us know what you find!
