NO, the Signal Booster does not have to be matched to antenna. It does need power though. Do you have a power supply in the house that attached to the cable going up to the antenna. I think CM sends a DC voltage up to the pre-amp. It shows that on the case. Do you have a volt meter. I haven't looked up the 7777, however I did antenna installs for many years.
