Apparently, all you have to do is die to be a hero. Going all the way back to the beginnings of our country, getting killed seemed to make one a hero of some sort. Just my humble observation.
Seems that if he had lived out a long life and died of old age, not nearly as many people would notice. After all, look at some of the older generation of actors, comedians, and other entertainers that have passed before. Those that die of "natural" causes seem to just get a little footnote in history while the ones that have a more "dramatic" death are mourned publicly.
