Lots of things that were pretty stupid when looked at in hindsight took place prior to WW2 and the history books never, ever mention them. They don't mention union work slow downs during WW2, Wilson imprisoning over 80K American citizens during WW1 for simply speaking out against the war or MacArthur leading the charge on WW1 vets during the Depression.
