When that happens to me, which it happens more than I like, I go to the shelf and get a new rotor and cap. If that doesn't fix it, wires are next. I keep spare parts on shelf. It's a common problem with all dist cap ign systems. Even have the same distributor issues with my 2007 GMC truck. That's why most new cars and trucks have gone distributor-less ign. My next truck will definately be distributor-less.
When you lose spark, plugs will get wet. You may pull plugs, spin the enginee over to blow the gas out and replace with new ones. Keep the old ones, let them dry out and reuse next time. George
