I thought you were asking about the Kaw filter and who made it. No way to tell without cutting it open and since you are still researching, I assumed you still had an OEM kaw filter on the machine. When you decide on a filter, cut open the old Kaw filter open and post it here, somebody should be able to ID it. But like I said, it wont matter though because the contract could have changed in the mean time and it could be made by a different vendor.
If you want to see the relief valve in a purolator, look at the links I posted or pony up the 3 bucks for a filter and cut it open. Its got a relief valve though, I posted the link to purolators web site and they confirm that it has one. With the purolator, I dont think you can see the valve without taking it apart, as is shown in the links I posted.
Want me to mail you the $3.50 a filter cost? Seems at this point, thats the only thing left to finish this chapter in the great oil filter search. I would think the pictures and info would be useful on that mule forum you were talking about, maybe others could use that info.
