My LX188 with Kaw with 48" deck is 17 yrs old and just runs and runs...nary a drop in oil level and it has about 2000 hrs on it (I added an hr meter when new). Keep that horizontal air cleaner clean as that can sneak up on you. Be careful of those plastic hinges on the hood, mine are completely broken so lift the hood straight up in one piece. That water-cooled engine is amazing...lots of pep and plenty of power with the 48". Drives like a sports car. LA in WI
