I quit shopping best buy years ago. A BIL bought and had a high dollar stereo in his car. When it gave him problems he took it back in. After a week or so it messed up again. I pulled it and the installer had twisted the wires together and used masking tape.
As far as remotes starters are concerned I've had 3 aftermarket ones in 3 different vehicles. I have never had a problem with any of them.
