The neighbor has a 3400, 3550, 4000, 5000, and 8000 ford tractors. I have run all of the doing several different things, and I must say, the 5000 is my favorite. Seems to have WAY more power than the 4000, and one nice thing about it compare to the 4000 and smaller tractors, rather than sitting in between the wheels, you are kind of up above them.
The 5000 I think has pretty good stability, however this tractor that I run has taken a life in a roll over accident before, but we think it was operator error.
Parts are easy to find, and the tranny's were VERY good. I think that $5000 would be a great price for it.. Don't even look at the paint, if it runs/works good, someone in your little town would probably be willing to squirt some paint on it for a few hundred $ and a 24 pack... :)
If you were close enough, I would be MORE than happy to clean it up and paint it for you... :) Bryce
