If it was a large tillage tractor, I would say yes. On a 45 year old yard/chore/hobby tractor, I doubt that you would get your money back by putting a second new rear tire on it. It might sell faster with the extra new tire, but you won't get your money back on the tire. On a chore tractor one new rear tire and one marginal rear tire is still better than it would be with two matching marginal rear tires.
How are the fluids: engine oil, antifreeze and hydraulic?
If you don't mind my asking, how much money do you have in it and what do you hope to sell it for? If you bought if as a parts tractor and can sell it running you should get a nice profit.
