Christopher I hope I can help I have been working on Duramaxs since day 1. The 2011 DEF system has been quite problematic they were completely different from 2012 on mainly in software issues. The truck will need a NOx sensor for the codes but will need the programming updated for the DEF level issue. The level sensor is part of the tank and I have found it best to replace the complete tank assembly if further issues arise. Your dealer should be able to do this,good luck. Matt G.
