: : If you want to cut some costs when you convert your 6V tractor to 12V, you can keep the 6V headlights by wiring them in series. 6V + 6V = 12V. The only drawback is if one headlight burns out they both go out. But it will save you the cost of two new headlights and the heartache of trashing 2 perfecly good headlights. : If your headlights are like mine, they only have one hot wire and are grounded through the case. Rewiring them to run in series would mean that one headlight mount would have to be isolated from ground. This seems like more trouble than it's worth. Bob, mine have two connections on each headlight, one of which is connected to the case. You just disconnect that one on one of the headlights, connect a wire from that post over to the positive post on the other headlight (be sure to tape up the now exposed and hanging hot wire) and it's done.
